Child-friendly museum websites with activities:

I have recently found two excellent child-friendly museum websites. The Metropolitan Museum of Art website (www.metmuseum.org) has a link to Explore and Learn, then another link to Just for Fun, which has many activities and games related to works of art in the museum. The website for the Art Institute of Chicago has a link to Education, then to Online Learning, then to Art Access (http://www.artic.edu/artaccess/), which features activities such as a “shadowbox bedroom” that a child could make from a shoebox, based on Van Gogh’s painting of his bedroom. (I would advise that parents always sit with a young child when they are navigating the Web).
