School Improvement Plan

SCHOOL: Helen Mae Sauter School           PRINCIPAL: Cherie McComb               ACADEMIC YEAR: 2008-2010

GOAL 1:  To make AYP in ELA and Math for all tested groups and sub-groups. MCAS 2007 AYP data indicates that Helen Mae Sauter School did not make AYP in ELA (Aggregate, Low Income) and in Math (Aggregate and Low Income).  Improvement targets for 2008 are as follows:  ELA aggregate= 2.7 and Low Income= 3.85.  Math aggregate=5.25, Low Income 6.16. Data analysis tells us it is critical to focus our students’ ability to demonstrate understanding of expository text by answering questions and writing about content proficiently in ELA and to correctly perform numerical computations of two digits or more and competently solve math word problems by providing written open response answers.
