SCHOOL COMMITTEE – SUPERINTENDENT RELATIONS

The school committee agrees with authorities in the field of education that the legislation of policies is the most important function of a school committee, and that the execution of the policies should be the function of the superintendent.

By delegating its executive power to the superintendent, the school committee believes it will provide freedom for the superintendent to manage the schools within established policies.

The superintendent may delegate to other members of the school staff such duties as may seem necessary and desirable while retaining overall responsibility for the operation of the school system.
