Resident Transfer Station
The Gardner BOARD OF HEALTH has made the decision to temporarily close the transfer station. The transfer station will be closed to the public April 1-April 15th. Before the 15th the board will re-evaluate the status of the closure and we will notify residents.
Transfer Station Stickers
2020 Gardner Transfer Station permit stickers are available for Gardner residents for $20. The permit sticker is good from July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2020. The permit sticker will allow you to dispose of household trash, recycling and bulk items. Please see the links below for details and disposal fees. The Gardner Transfer station is for Gardner residents only.
2021 Gardner Transfer Station Sticker will be available for purchase after 6/1/2020. These stickers will be orange and will be valid from 7/1/2020 to 6/31/2020.
To obtain a Transfer Station permit, bring your driver’s license and vehicle registration for which the permit will be issued to the Board of Health office in City Hall, room 29. Hours are Monday - Thursday 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Payment at the Board of Health must be cash or check only; we do not accept credit or debit cards.
Permit stickers can also be purchased online. When purchasing online, print out your receipt; the receipt is your temporary pass to the Transfer Station until you receive your sticker by mail.
The Gardner Transfer Station permit sticker is not to be used for waste generated by commercial activities; it is for Gardner residents who wish to dispose of their household items only.
In the event that your vehicle is sold or a windshield is replaced, the sticker must be REMOVED & RETURNED to the Board of Health for a free replacement sticker. NO EXCEPTIONS.

3/17/2017 - EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY: We are no longer accepting latex paint in the paint shed at the Transfer Station. Dried out latex paint in cans without lids will be accepted as part of a regular trash load or can be placed in your curbside toter.
For questions regarding the City’s Sludge Only Landfill or to report an odor complaint please contact SUEZ at 978-630-8791 during normal business hours. If you are calling after hours, please contact the emergency on-call phone at 978-204-7006. When reporting a complaint please provide the exact location and time of the complaint so SUEZ operators can respond appropriately.
