The first time each season you wish to burn you must obtain a permit. Follow the link http://massfire.net/brush/gardner.php# to apply on line or visit the fire headquarters and fill out an information card. Permits can be applied for any time after January 1st. Once you have your permit, you must notify the Fire Department at (978) 630-4051 before 1:00 p.m. to let them know you plan to burn.
Burning is only permitted between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The fire shall be supervised at all times and at least 75 feet away from any dwelling. Only garden preparation and tree trimming material may be burned. (No leaves or stumps.)
